Tourism Familiarisation Visits | 27 July – 8 August | Various venues

WMGC's Tourism team, in partnership with VisitBritain, will be welcoming a number of delegations of travel agents and travel media, showcasing to them the very best of the region's tourism offer, including experiencing the Games themselves.

Dates include:

  • Indian delegation: 27 July – 8 Aug
  • Australian delegation: 28 July – 2 August
  • Tourism Advisory Council (Canada) delegation: 28 July – 3 August
  • Canadian delegation: 5 - 8 August

Media Visits | 27 July – 8 August | Various venues

WMGC’s Communications team will be hosting a number of media delegations, showing them the very best of the region during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Dates include:

  • Canadian media: 28 - 30 July
  • Australian media: 28 July - 8 August
  • Tourism sector media: 28 July - 8 August
  • Investment sector media: 3 - 5 August

From 5-8 August, the PR team will be promoting the latest development of the Relaytionship, a unique artistic collaboration created in celebration of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Commonwealth Business Forum | 28 July | ICC Birmingham

The Commonwealth Business Forum will bring together thought leaders, business leaders and investors from across the Commonwealth. It will celebrate the unique importance of the Commonwealth as an institution that helps boost trade and prosperity - especially amongst its members, but also with the rest of the international community.  

UK House | 28 July – 8 August | The Exchange

UK House will be a focal point for promoting the city of Birmingham, the region of the West Midlands and the UK during the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and Festival UK 2022 and is a key feature in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Business and Tourism Programme.

UK House is located at The Exchange in Birmingham’s Centenary Square. The Square is the centre of Birmingham’s beating heart, and never more so than during the Commonwealth Games. As such, it is an ideal and fitting location for UK House, the hub for trade, investment and tourism opportunity throughout the Games period.

UK House will host a wide variety of events including conferences, showcases, receptions and networking events. Each day will be dedicated to one of the West Midlands’ key growth sectors including: Food and Drink, Education, Data Driven Healthcare, Sports Economy, Creative and Digital Technologies, Future Mobility and Tourism.
