City Success at Event UK

Birmingham Convention Bureau (BCB) brought the city to life at Event UK, inviting visitors to sample Birmingham’s exciting leisure offering with an interactive stand at the show.

Visitors enjoyed BCB’s giant version of the popular game, Connect Four and relaxed with a drink at the special Birmingham bar, which gave a flavour of the variety of drink and cuisine on offer throughout the city.

BCB was accompanied by stand partners from across Birmingham, including premiership club Aston Villa and championship club Birmingham City; The Deaf Cultural Centre; the Loft Lounge bar and The Belfry, currently undergoing a major redevelopment to become a five star hotel.

Ian Taylor, commercial director at Marketing Birmingham, says:
“The BCB stand at the first Event UK show was a real success. We worked with a variety of stand partners to give visitors a snapshot of Birmingham’s strong lifestyle offering, and generated over 700 leads.”

Event UK took place 16th – 17th September at the NEC. Duncan Reid, Event Director, reflects on the shows progress:

“We’re delighted with the first outing of Event UK, a product that is more in line with the aspirations of both ourselves and our exhibitors. The changes we brought to the show – making it a two day event, introducing new features, increasing marketing support and introducing a new identity – have all contributed to create an enjoyable and more atmospheric show that is conducive to people doing business.”
