Birmingham goes to Bournemouth for the Liberal Democrats conference
Birmingham Convention Bureau will be at the Liberal Democrats Conference in Bournemouth from 19 – 23 September. BCB will be at the party’s conference to profile Birmingham as host city for the Spring conference in 2010 as well as providing visitor information and accommodation booking.
The Spring conference, taking place in March 2010, is expected to attract more than 2,000 delegates to the city. The announcement follows the success of two major political party conferences held in Birmingham in the last eighteen months and will once again fix the eyes of the media and business leaders firmly on Birmingham.
Ian Taylor, Commercial Director at Marketing Birmingham, said:
“Following the success of the 100th Rotary Convention to The NEC in June, we are continuing to promote Birmingham as a key destination for the conferencing and events industry.”
“With the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives here in 2010 there is a real buzz about Birmingham as it consolidates its reputation for attracting these big name events. We are now firmly on the map regarding political conferences, which support our overall aim to achieve global status as a leading events destination.”
