Anthony Collins Solicitors Named Title Sponsor of City Centre Photographic Exhibition

A major photographic exhibition opened this week in Birmingham city centre, sponsored by Anthony Collins Solicitors.

The four week exhibition of photographs by Sir Benjamin Stone, Conservative MP for East Birmingham from 1895 to 1909, is being run in conjunction with Birmingham City Council and Marketing Birmingham to coincide with the Conservative Party Conference which is being held in the city from 28th September to 1st October for the first time in 75 years.

The exhibition, entitled Knight of the Camera, is the first showing of Stone’s work in Birmingham for almost a century, and the first in the UK since 1974.  It includes parliamentary images, customs and festivals, as well as photographs of the Franco-British Exhibition and the 1908 Olympic Stadium at White City.

Andrew Lancaster, partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors who advised Marketing Birmingham in relation to bringing the conference back to the city commented: ‘We are delighted to be associated with such an exciting exhibition which resonates firmly with our Birmingham heritage and our ongoing commitment to the future development of this great city.”

Ian Taylor, Commercial Director of Marketing Birmingham commented: ‘We were keen to get Anthony Collins on board as a major player that is dedicated to helping to promote Birmingham. This exhibition is attracting a lot of attention from national media due to the historic value of the photographs and will raise awareness of some of the exclusive collections held within Birmingham Central Library.”
