Birmingham comes to life at Event UK

Birmingham Convention Bureau (BCB) will be bringing the city to life at Event UK, allowing visitors to sample Birmingham’s exciting leisure offering. BCB, operated by Marketing Birmingham, has an interactive stand at the show, from 16 - 17 September, giving people a snapshot of the city.

Visitors can enjoy BCB’s giant version of the popular game, Connect Four, or relax with a drink at a special Birmingham bar, which gives a flavour of the variety of drink and cuisine on offer throughout the city.

BCB will be accompanied by stand partners from the city, including premiership club Aston Villa and championship club Birmingham City.  Stand partner, etc venues, is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of meeting, training and event space, and will be showcasing its first national venue outside of London. Maple House is situated in the heart of Birmingham’s central business district, and provides high quality facilities for training, meetings and conferences, catering for over 100 people. Etc venues offer delegates ‘brain fuel’ courtesy of organic food providers, Abel and Cole, and will be offering visitors to the stand the chance to win a 12-week delivery of their hampers, delivered directly to their homes or to their office.

Ian Taylor, commercial director at Marketing Birmingham, says:
“BCB is attending Event UK to get in front of event organisers and bring our brand to life in front of them, while they’re actually here in the city experiencing it for themselves.

“We’re working with our stand partners to show that alongside a great venue and accommodation offering, we also have a strong lifestyle offering. When it comes to holding events, Birmingham’s got the whole package.”

Birmingham has successfully positioned itself as a global destination for both business and leisure visitors.  Large scale investment in recent years has seen the development of world class visitor attractions, shopping, food and drink, arts and culture, sports and education facilities to transform the city’s image.
