Bullring to bullring: Villa kit safely in Spain
Aston Villa club journalists proved they were worthy of Martin O’Neill’s trust, as Jack Woodward and Paul Brown delivered the new home kit to the team hotel, ahead of the Peace Cup clash against Magala.
Spanish sensation, Carlos Cuellar was accompanied by first team regulars Stiliyan Petrov, Ashley Young and Brad Friedel, in welcoming the kit to Spain and couldn’t wait to get their hands on it:
“I’m delighted the new home shirt reflects the club’s long association with the football league,” said Stiliyan Petrov, “and I know it’s something the fans have been keen to see as well. It’ll be our first chance to wear it against Malaga and thanks to Paul and Jack, it got to us on time!”
The two cars and their precious cargo, left Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre on Monday and have made the road trip through London, Paris, Perpignan and Benidorm.
Jack and Paul hit the road in a fabulous Seat Leon and Ibiza emblazoned in club colours, the club crest and those of partners on the trip, VisitBirmingham.com and Thomas Cook. They have been attracting lots of attention from admirers across the continent and hundreds of fans have been getting involved online, as Jack and Paul document their adventures:
“We’re exhausted,” said Jack Woodward, “but it’s been a real adventure and we’ve really felt the pressure of getting the kit to the hotel, in time for the game but we’ve done it and enjoyed every minute of the trip".
