Birmingham Bites at the BBC Good Food Summer Festival, 13 – 17 June 2007
Visitors to the BBC Good Food Summer Festival will be able to taste the world in one city
at the Birmingham Bites stand at the show’s Dining Pavilion. Restaurants offering cuisine
from countries including Italy, Thailand, France and India, will be on the stand to to share
their know-how and tempt visitors with gastronomic treats. Visitors will be given an insight
into their expertise with demonstrations as well as the chance to sample some of the city’s
best cuisine for themselves.
Kinaree restaurant in The Mailbox and Thai Edge in Brindleyplace will both be on hand to
showcase the best of Thai cuisine. The recently opened Kinaree restaurant boasts over
100 dishes on the menu prepared by experienced Thai chefs, and Thai Edge has launched
a lunch menu with dishes including yellow curry with potato and onion.
The De Vere Belfry will showcase food from its fine dining restaurant, The French
Restaurant, which specialises in using local ingredients including herbs from its own
garden.
Del Villaggio will serve traditional authentic Italian cuisine available at its restaurant and
delicatessen on Broad Street.
Brasserie Blanc in Brindleyplace, has introduced a new menu offering a selection of classic
and modern dishes, many inspired by Raymond Blanc’s childhood.
Singers Bistro’s offering, at the newly opened Ricoh Arena in Coventry, includes tapas
guaranteed to tantalise the taste-buds.
St Paul’s Square based Italian restaurant, San Paolo, base their cooking on simple
traditional food including locally grown vegetables, freshly made pastas & breads,
authentic pastries, cured meats, mouth watering sauces and a variety of tempting
cheeses.
The Royal Naim, based in the Balti Traingle, is among Birmingham's best-regarded balti
houses and will add a touch of spice to the stand.
Rose and Crown, one of Warwick’s finest gastro pubs, will offer its trademark home
cooked delights using well sourced seasonal ingredients.

The Birmingham Bites stand forms part of the Birmingham Bites Dining Pavilion,
sponsored by bmibaby. This outdoor food feature is a first for the show and is situated in
the heart of stunning outdoor show gardens. The Birmingham Bites Dining Pavilion is
home to eight of the city’s restaurants, allowing visitors a wide choice of dining
experiences in an alfresco setting.
