Birmingham Style Award Winners
The inaugural Birmingham Style Awards were held on Thursday 1st November at The Macdonald Burlington Hotel. Hosted by Heart FM DJ Steve Denyer, the evening was a huge success, with 12 awards given out to the city’s most stylish shops, venues and people.
Singer Ray Quinn, who shot to fame last year on The X Factor, entertained guests with a set that had everyone tapping their feet while 300 of the city’s retailers and media enjoyed Tapas food at the glittering ceremony.
Awards were also given out for Birmingham’s most stylish male and female, crowned following a competition on Heart FM inviting members of the public to nominate themselves or a friend.
The awards themselves were produced in Birmingham’s very own Jewellery Quarter by artist
Simon Uribe and were bronze figurines, gold plated and set on a black granite base.
Congratulations to all those who won and thank you to everyone who came along to support the event. Birmingham is making a name for itself as a style capital and it’s great to see people taking such pride in it. Now all eyes will be on the 2008 Awards!
