Birmingham Bites, the campaign which celebrates the city’s diverse food and drink offering,
left visitors hungry for more by hosting celebrity chef James Martin at the BBC Good Food
Show.
James, star of Saturday Kitchen, indulged his sweet tooth by preparing a vanilla and
crystallised ginger cheesecake at the Birmingham Bites stand (T50) at the BBC Good Food
Show on Wednesday 28th November.
The event was introduced by Birmingham’s very own Poet Laureate, Charlie Jordan, who
shared her passion for poetry with the crowds.
James Martin is a big fan of the city’s cuisine and says:
“Birmingham’s food and drink scene is bursting with award winning restaurants, creative
talent and fresh local produce. With over 200 restaurants serving cuisine from 27 countries,
the city certainly has something to suit everyone’s taste buds.
“The Birmingham Bites stand at the BBC Good Food Show celebrates the city’s culinary
offering and is a great way to sample the wide variety of cuisine available. It was also fun
meeting Birmingham food fans.”
Dave Hodgson, marketing director at Marketing Birmingham, says:
“We’re delighted to have welcomed James Martin to the Birmingham Bites stand the BBC
Good Food Show and it was a real treat to get an insight into his culinary creations.
“The Good Food Show remains a must do for food lovers and is a great addition to
Birmingham’s thriving food and drink scene.”
