Local Schools bring festive cheer to The NEC

Creative Solihull school children have been helping The NEC to get ready for Christmas with its second festive art exhibition.

Students from 5 local schools - The International School, The Oval School, Gossey Lane School, Timberley School and Shirestone School - have spent the last few weeks having fun producing themed artwork that is decorating The NEC’s skywalk over the Christmas period.

Organized by The NEC and co-ordinated by the International School, the exhibition, which was launched last year, was such a massive success that the schools were invited to return this year with a further showcase.

Lynn Fox, Visitor Experience Manager, The NEC Group, said: “Last year’s exhibition looked fantastic, with the Skywalk decorated with all of the artwork. It was incredibly popular with visitors to the venue and we received so many compliments that we are delighted to welcome it back."

“We’ve been so impressed with the high standard of work this year and have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project with all of the schools involved.”

The art exhibition ran alongside a full and exciting line up of events leading up to the festive period, including the Magic of Christmas exhibition, which is currently running at the venue.
