New Arrivals at Drayton Manor Zoo

A baby boom at Drayton Manor Zoo means there is even more for families to see at the award-winning Drayton Manor Theme Park this Bank Holiday weekend.

Among the new arrivals to the zoo are a Rhesus Monkey, Marmosets, Tamarins, Cameroon Lambs, Ring Tailed Lemurs and Red Squirrels. Animal lovers will be able watch as the babies explore and play in their new surroundings under the watchful eye of their mothers.

The zoo is also home to over 100 animal species from all over the world, including two Sumatran tigers, reindeer, primates and snakes.

And there’s so much more to see and do at the theme park this bank holiday as Drayton Manor boasts some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around, such as The Bounty, G-Force, Maelstrom, Shockwave and Apocalypse.

The new addition to the theme park this year is the 4D cinema. Visitors can watch a movie in 3D while seated in specially designed chairs, which react to scenes in the film by moving up and down, releasing sprays of water, bursts of air, bubbles and various smells. Currently showing in the cinema is pirate adventure The Curse of Skull Rock, which has won a number of awards for its animation.

The theme park is also home of Europe’s only Thomas Land™, which recently celebrated its first anniversary. Thomas Land™ features 12 rides based on popular Thomas & Friends™ characters, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas, a restaurant and a shop.
