West Midlands businesses to explore digital opportunities at Hello Business conference

Some of Europe’s leading business professionals including the Vice President of the European Commission, Neelie Kroes, Co-Founder of Across Group, Peter Hinssen and Online Dragon’s Den guru, Julie Meyer will arrive in Birmingham next month to deliver a series of interactive seminars and workshops to help SMEs utilise digital technologies and learn how their implementation can increase profitability.

The Hello Business conference, which is part of the Hello Digital Week, is now in its third year and will offer insight, advice and support from a network of experts, helping businesses better understand how to make the most of digital technologies, giving them the tools and knowledge to innovate and grow.

Taking place on October 21st and 22nd across two of Birmingham’s top venues: the ICC and the Custard Factory, the programme focuses on creating and fostering new innovative collaborations and business partnerships, enabling access into new and profitable business tools and positioning Birmingham at the heart of digital innovation.

Covering a range of topics such as making the switch to digital, understanding the risks, managing change and technology and marketing digitally, the 2-day conference will feature business master classes, digital surgeries, transformation workshops, pitch training and a Hello Business Marketplace.

Councillor Paul Tillsey of Birmingham City Council said: “We’re extremely excited about this year’s programme of events. Not only will the conference feature some of Europe’s leading experts in international business and digital technology such as Horst Hortner, Neelie Kroes, Julie Meyer and Noah Falstein, but visitors will also be given the opportunity to attend business surgeries on subjects ranging from social media to search engine optimisation.

“Innovation and differentiation are more vital than ever in today’s economic climate. Hello Business will enable visitors, whatever level of understanding they have of digital, to learn and understand the tools and models available to assist in their development and growth.

“By utilising the tools and techniques explored throughout the conference, businesses will be able to unlock opportunities that can increase market share and profitability. The advice given by these leading business professionals could prove instrumental to the success and survival of a business in today’s unpredictable economic conditions.

“At this year’s conference Digital Birmingham has ensured that the sessions are addressing real and current challenges to businesses across all sectors, whether it’s manufacturing, professional services or the creative industries. It is for this reason that we predict this year’s conference will be our biggest yet.”

Hello Business will be taking place at Birmingham’s ICC and the new Zellig building at the Custard Factory on the 21st and 22nd October 2010. For more information please visit www.hellobusiness.net .
