The NEC Arena officially renamed the LG Arena
From today (Monday 1 September), The NEC Arena has been officially renamed the LG Arena. New signage has been erected on The NEC’s iconic clock tower to mark the start of £28 million development that will see the venue transformed into a cutting edge, 21st century destination.
The 28-year-old Birmingham venue, which has welcomed some of the biggest names in international music and events, has been renamed as part of a sponsorship deal with Korean electronics giant LG.
Phil Mead, Managing Director of Arenas and Associate Business, The NEC Group, said:
“Having the new signage in place brings the reality of the LG Arena one step closer and marks the start of the period of construction that will allow us to give audiences an outstanding experience, and secure the legacy of one of the region’s most widely-regarded and iconic venues for years to come.”
