Record Crowds at Edgbaston Cricket Ground
On Sunday 10th September, Edgbaston will host a record crowd for the NatWest One Day International against Pakistan. The Club have brought in an extra stand to cope with the ticket demand for this exciting match.
A catering staff of over 400 will expect to serve customers over 40,000 pints of beer and units around the ground will be equipped to serve burgers, chips and curry to hungry spectators. In addition, hospitality areas are packed to the rafters with over 1,800 people enjoying a day out in the some of the best corporate facilities in Birmingham.
The Shop at Edgbaston is fully stocked with replica shirts for both teams and the current end of season sale will continue during the match so fans will have an opportunity to pick up some bargains as well as their team’s colours!
The match is the last in the series and will hopefully be crucial in deciding the Series winner. Ian Bell will return to familiar surroundings along with Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer who had great success with the Warwickshire CCC team in the 90’s.
Edgbaston has been a very lucky ground for the England team as they have won their last 3 completed One Day Internationals and their last 3 Test Matches played here. Let’s hope the famous Edgbaston atmosphere will help England notch up another win in the Midlands in front of a full house.
Ian Bell said, “I love playing at Edgbaston, not only because it is where I learnt my cricket but because the atmosphere is always electric and really lifts the team when we play here so hopefully we can secure a thrilling victory to close the series.”
