LiveBox' launches at The Public
A new evening of live entertainment heads to The Public in West Bromwich on Sunday 12 September. LiveBox, to be held on the second Sunday of the month, will feature a fusion of eclectic sounds from Hip Hop to Jazz, Blues to Acoustic, Soul to Funk, creating a party atmosphere like no other.
Launching the first night will be Zara McFarlane, a sassy, sensual jazz vocalist who brings a Caribbean flavour to traditional jazz music and original tracks. The Jamaican born artist draws influences from several styles including soul, reggae and R&B having performed and/or recorded with Denys Baptiste, Gary Crosby, Soweto Kinch, Omar Puente, Hugh Masekela, Abram Wilson, Orphy Robinson, Ernest Ranglin and Guy Barker. With her refreshing take on the classics and terrific original songs, Zara is bound to impress.
Over the upcoming months, the venue will feature live performances from Why G and Jonzi D as the arts centre in the heart of West Bromwich comes alive with eclectic sounds.
Organisers of the event, Nu Century Arts, host a number of successful events across the West Midlands, providing a platform for established and emerging artists from the African Caribbean community to become involved in the creative industry.
Linda Saunders, Managing Director of The Public said,
“LiveBox is set to add real quality to our already diverse entertainments programme. Hip Hop is a hugely popular genre in Sandwell so we expect the night to be a great success.”
The night launches on Sunday 12 September from 7.45pm – 10.30pm. Tickets are £5 and are available from The Public Box Office on 0121 533 7161. Groups of ten receive a 50% discount.
