Embarrassing Bodies Coming to Drayton Manor

Channel 4’s prime time TV show Embarrassing Bodies will be filming at Drayton Manor Theme Park from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd August as part of a four-part special focusing on children’s health.

This series will be aimed at helping parents who have a child suffering with common conditions, such as nits and impetigo, to the more sensitive conditions, such as mental health, behavioural problems and birth defects, or even undetected physical illnesses.

The experienced Embarrassing Bodies’ doctors will be based in their drop-in clinic, which will be located just outside the theme park’s Thomas Land™ attraction, ready to give help and advice to parents and children. Previous episodes of the show have identified serious conditions, as well as putting people’s minds at rest over niggling health concerns.

Colin Bryan, Drayton Manor’s managing director, commented: “As a father and grandfather myself, the health and well-being of children is a very important issue to me. I’m glad Drayton Manor can play a part in helping to provide families with positive health advice.”

Sarah Eglin, Series Editor from the show’s production company, Maverick Television, added: “We’re looking forward to coming to Drayton Manor Theme Park as it’s such a popular location for families. Our doctors are well used to dealing with children’s problems and for them, nothing is too embarrassing to discuss.”

The four-part special, featuring consultations held at the theme park is scheduled to be aired in the Spring of 2010 on Channel 4.
