Runners Attempt Half Marathon in Victoria Square
To help raise awareness of the first ever EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon, which will be staged in Birmingham city centre on Sunday 26 October, staff members from Up & Running on Temple Street, will be attempting to run a half marathon on a treadmill in Victoria Square on Tuesday 26 August.
Up & Running, a nationwide chain of running specialist stores, are officially supporting the EDF Energy Half Marathon, also known as the Race Against Climate Change, and staff will be demonstrating to members of the public how the 13.1 mile distance can be run.

The half marathon attempt (which is weather dependent) will start at around 11am and as well as watching the staff run, members of the public will be able to pick up an application form for the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon will be find out more about the event which is being organised by Birmingham City Council and which more than 5,000 runners have already entered.
