Skyeurope Announces Bratislava

SkyEurope, the premium low-cost low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced a new route to Bratislava from Birmingham International Airport. The route serving Bratislava will operate three times a week and will commence on 30th October 2007.

The flights will depart Birmingham every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1400 hours, arriving in Bratislava at 1720 hours. The return journey leaves Bratislava on the same days at 1200 hours, arriving back to Birmingham at 1330 hours, operated by a Boeing 737-700NG aircraft.

John Morris, Head of Corporate and Community Affairs said: “Here at Birmingham International Airport we are delighted that SkyEurope will commence a service to Bratislava in October. This three times a week service, to this up and coming destination, makes it an ideal choice as a city break or gives the option of a longer break in Bratislava and maybe a visit to Vienna, which is only an hour away.”

Tomas Kika, SkyEurope’s Head of Communication said: “We are very happy to directly connect Birmingham with another European capital. SkyEurope’s passengers travelling between Birmingham and Bratislava/Vienna can expect exciting products on board one of the youngest fleet in Europe, which consists of only brand new Boeing 737-700NG aircraft.”

Bratislava is one of the youngest capitals in Europe and is located on the banks of the River Danube. It was previously named Pressburg and was one of the important cities in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Bratislava is currently receiving major inward investment and visitors are attracted to this city as an up-and-coming destination.

Bratislava is ideally placed for those people wanting to travel onwards to Vienna. When booking flight tickets at www.skyeurope.com passengers can also book SkyEurope’s shuttle bus service between Bratislava and Vienna, which takes just one hour.

Flights start from £29.00 one way and can be booked on www.skyeurope.com.
