Basketball - Game On in Birmingham
The NIA will host a feast of international basketball during the month of August as it stages the first ever GB Standard Life men’s and women’s double header on Saturday 14 August, as well as a further men’s game on Tuesday 17 August.
The double header will see Tom Maher’s women’s team take on Slovak Republic at 16.00, whilst Chris Finch’s men’s team face up to Ukraine at 19.00. The following Tuesday, which is the penultimate home game of the men’s campaign, will see GB up against Hungary
at 19.30.
The camps are in buoyant mood ahead of Game On 2010, with the squads boosted by the inclusion of NBA star Luol Deng on the men’s side and WNBA draft pick Jo Leedham on the women’s. Both teams are gunning for European Championship qualification glory and a place at 2011 European Championships.
