ICC Birmingham hosts Premier League kit launch

The ICC Birmingham showed its support for local sport today (Thursday), acting as the launch venue for Premier League football club Aston Villa’s new kit for the 2010 – 2011 season.

A giant kit was unveiled across the front of the world-renowned Birmingham landmark, which featured as a backdrop to the launch activity taking place in Centenary Square, and provided post-event hospitality for players, club executives and invited media.

Geoff Fenlon, General Manager, The ICC said: “It’s only fitting that the UK’s premier purpose-built convention centre should play host to one of the region’s best Premier League teams.  The West Midlands has a great football heritage, the calibre of players and teams in this region is fantastic and I am very proud that Aston Villa chose The ICC as the venue to showcase their new kit.”

Russell Jones, head of marketing for Aston Villa, said:  “Aston Villa are very proud to represent the city of Birmingham, and as one of its most iconic landmark buildings The ICC provided a perfect backdrop for the new kit launch.”

Aston Villa’s new principal club partner is foreign exchange broker FxPro, whose logo will appear on the club’s shirt for the next three seasons.
