Top Writers Top The Bill In The REP's Autumn & Winter Season 2007
Hot on the heels of her first season, Birmingham Repertory Theatre artistic director Rachel Kavanaugh today announces plans to present work by award-winning writers Bryony Lavery, Simon Schama, Caryl Phillips and Roy Williams in a season that boasts new work alongside fresh and innovative productions of classic plays.
The new season will also feature a brand new co-production of Noel Coward's Brief Encounter, with award-winning theatre company Kneehigh, a major revival of She Stoops To Conquer, and a new musical version of Peter Pan in her Autumn-Winter 2007 season.
"The new season will continue our celebration of new work from a range of writers, many of whom have collaborated with The REP in the past," says Rachel Kavanaugh. "Roy Williams, Ayub Khan-Din, Amber Lone and David Watson are all writers whose careers were launched by The REP and I am thrilled that we are producing their latest work this season.
Bryony Lavery's work has had a prominent place in our programmes for several years and we are delighted to be presenting the UK premiere of her latest play, Last Easter. The new season will feature the scale and excitement of the main house, alongside the intimacy of The Door."
