Jazz it up at Winterbourne
On Saturday 10th July, Winterbourne House and Garden will open after hours to host a candlelit evening of music with Casey Greene and his six piece Latin jazz band Quiver.
Featuring musicians from as far afield as Australia and Venezuela, Quiver offers a vibrant night of rhythm and soul, bringing people to their feet as well as dancing around their picnic rugs.
Composer and multi instrumentalist Casey Greene draws together a unique and dynamic distillation of original compositions that take their influence from across the globe, inspired by icons such as Ruban Gonsales, Tito Puente and Paquito d’Rivera.
Gates to the Botanical Garden will open at 7pm, with a cash bar serving drinks throughout the evenings. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic and casual seating and explore the unique setting before the music begins.
Winterbourne is also offering gourmet picnic hampers which can be pre-booked and picked up on the night. Hampers cost £28 for two people and include delicious deli treats like smoked salmon, pâté, speciality breads as well as strawberries and cream and freshly baked scones.
Alison Darby, Head of Winterbourne says “Quiver is the perfect distillation of the vibrant West Midlands music scene and with such a beautiful setting in the botanical garden at Winterbourne; it is set to be a fantastic summer event.”
Tickets to Jazz by Candlelight cost £15 per ticket but group discounts also apply – if you buy 10 tickets, you get one free. The concert is based at Winterbourne House and Garden, University of Birmingham, 58 Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham, B15 2RT.
