Pop star Javine urges Birmingham runners to put their best foot forward for children’s charity
C4’s ‘The Games’ champion and UK pop star Javine is urging females in Birmingham to run the Hydro Active Women’s Challenge 2006 for The Variety Club Children’s Charity on the 3rd September 2006.
By running with the Variety Club Team through the City Centre, Birmingham, runners participate in an amazing race and help sick, disabled and disadvantaged children run their own lives. Speaking about her involvement with Variety Club and running the 5k fun run, Javine said:
“The Hydro Active Challenge is open to women of all ages and is a great way to keep fit and at the same time support the Variety Club. Whether running in London, Liverpool or Birmingham, please consider running and raising vital funds to help the Variety Club.”
Money raised through individual fundraising efforts will help Variety Club to continue to support children throughout the UK.
Javine has to date had five UK hit singles and releases new material this autumn. She will also appear in new West End musical “Daddy Cool” from August 15th 2006 at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London.
Participants are asked to raise sponsorship total of £100 or more. For further information on taking part please contact the Variety Club on 0207 428 8100 or visit http://www.womenschallenge.co.uk/charity_listings/variety_club/ .
