Brindleyplace Launches Local Produce Market

A monthly local produce market is to be launched at Brindleyplace on Friday 29th May.
Situated in Central Square, Brindleyplace Local Produce Market will offer a wide range of local produce for sale including fruit and vegetables, cheese, wine and cakes.

A launch celebration for the opening of the market will be held from 10am-2pm on Friday 29th May, with live entertainment and Brindleyplace chef, Andy Waters of Edmunds fine dining restaurant, demonstrating creative ways in which to cook fresh items purchased at the market.

“The decision to launch a monthly local produce market at Brindleyplace was made in conjunction with Brindleyplace tenants who responded overwhelmingly in favour of the idea,” commented Kate Gregson, PR and marketing manager for Brindleyplace.  “Brindleyplace

Local Produce Market will provide tenants, employees and visitors to Brindleyplace with a fantastic selection of fresh produce sourced locally from across the Midlands area, tailored to meet their requirements.

“The market will evolve around customer demands with new products introduced each month and the most successful obtaining regular status.  We also remain open to suggestions for any additional produce customers would like to see at the market.
“Brindleyplace Local Produce Market will provide a great opportunity for those who work at or visit Brindleyplace to support other local businesses, sample tasty new products and take something exciting home for dinner and we’re confident it will prove to be extremely successful.”

Russell Dean of market operator Sketts added:  “The response from local traders to the opportunity to sell their produce at Brindleyplace has been phenomenal.  We are expecting between 20-25 stalls at the first market with produce ranging from fruit and vegetables to wine, meat, dairy, pastries and plants.  The market will promote local produce sourced within a 60 mile radius of Brindleyplace and including a range of organic and seasonal products.

“The location of Brindleyplace is ideal for a market offering both onsite and passing trade and we fully expect the range of produce to evolve and grow over the coming months as we adapt to the wishes of this new customer base.”
With a firm commitment to the environment, the Brindleyplace team will be distributing free bags for life to Brindleyplace Local Produce Market customers in order to minimise waste packaging at the market.

Starting on May 29th, the market will be held between 10am-2pm on the last Friday of every month at Brindleyplace’s Central Square.
