Birmingham’s newest hotel, the Ramada Encore, located in the city centre 5 minutes' walk from Birmingham New Street station welcomes on board general manager Luc Perquin and Sarah Bassett as sales manager.

With the hotel opening scheduled for 13th July 2009, the two new appointees have hit the ground running to finalise preparations for d day. Luc and Sarah have both worked within the industry for many years and now head up one of the exquisite hotels in the BDL portfolio.

Luc Perquin started his career in hospitality by working for a privately owned hotel in Rotterdam in his home country, the Netherlands. Luc then joined WT Cruises as Assistant Cruise Manager and worked in Germany and France before joining the Accor Group as F&B manager. He came across to the United Kingdom to work for P&O Ferries as Bar Operations Manager & Financial Controller. In the United Kingdom, Luc worked as Operations Manager at the Holiday Inn Hull Marina and opened the Express By Holiday Inn Hull City Centre as General Manager in November 2007, before moving to BDL Management.

Sarah Bassett joins the BDL Group from Macdonald Hotels based in Stratford Upon Avon, where she was Business Development Manager for two properties. Previous roles include Area Sales & Marketing Manager and New Openings Sales Manager for Chicago Rock Cafe, 3D Entertainment.

Sarah Bassett comments on her position saying ‘I am excited about my position at the hotel and am looking forward to bringing my experience and abilities as a manager to encourage the team, and to open up the hidden treasures within the hotel, bringing the Ramada Encore Birmingham City Centre to life.’
