Make ‘Green’ Your Colour This Spring With Bullring

Summer is finally on its way, and now is the perfect time to revamp your wardrobe with the season’s hottest trends from Bullring. So make the most of the change in seasons by spring cleaning your wardrobe, which not only makes space for new items, but also means you’ll be playing an important role in making Birmingham greener, too.

Bulging wardrobes and chests of drawers are often a sign that you’ve just got too much – so why not have a clear out and head to Bullring where you drop off your old clothes then replenish your stash with some of the hottest trends around.

Louise Hamer-Brown, marketing controller at Bullring, said: “With the season’s latest trends lining the stores of Bullring, there’s no time like the present than to give your wardrobe a good de-clutter.

“If you’re a horder, be ruthless and follow Bullring’s top five tips to clearing out your wardrobe.”

1.    If you’ve not worn it for a year – get rid of it! Not only does this banish old clothes, but it makes room for some lovely new ones, too.
2.    What’s the point in keeping it if it doesn’t fit? If you can’t squeeze into it, recycle it.
3.    If it’s looking a little ragged around the edges and is beyond help, then banish it – don’t worry about being embarrassed about giving it away, with Bullring’s scheme all clothing is recycled regardless of condition.
4.    If it’s the wrong colour for you, you don’t need to keep it.
5.    If you’ve never worn it then give it away to someone who will.

Once you’ve banished unwanted items from your cupboards, make sure you bag up clothes and save them for Bullring’s Green Week, when you can recycle them at designated points within two of the centre’s car parks.

From June 8 – 15, Bullring will be introducing two ‘clothes recycling’ points, situated in the Moor Street car park and in the Centre car park (level P1), where shoppers will be encouraged to post their unwanted clothes.

Part of Bullring’s ‘Green Week’ initiative, which aims to enlighten shoppers to the benefits of helping the environment as well as encourage people to adopt a Greener way of life, the clothes recycling points will enable shoppers to de-clutter bulging wardrobes without adding to landfill sites. What’s more, the clothing that is collected at Bullring during the week will be donated to Bullring’s ‘charity of the year’, which is Birmingham-based children’s hospice, Acorns. Currently caring for 600 life-limited children and their families, Acorns Children’s Hospice offers social and emotional support, as well as short breaks, therapeutic treatments and professional nursing care in a home-from-home environment.

Throughout the week, Bullring will play host to a series of Green-inspired events and initiatives – from free educational events on making your home greener, to the designated clothes recycling points throughout the centre.

Louise Hamer-Brown continued: “By bringing your unwanted clothes, which can be dropped off easily by car at the collection points in Moor Street car park and in the Centre car park, you will not only be doing ‘something green’ to help the environment, but helping a very worth while charity at the same time.”
