New arrivals at Coventry Transport Museum’s Doctor Who exhibition

Hot on the heels of the Doctor Who Easter special ‘Planet of the Dead’, Coventry Transport Museum has now added the costume of Lady Christina De Souza, played by Michelle Ryan, together with the truly terrifying fly-headed Trivatore monsters to its Doctor Who exhibition. The exhibition launched in March and enables visitors to get up close to some of the Doctor’s mightiest foes with props, costumes and models featured from the TV series.

As well as discovering fascinating insights into how the programme is made, visitors can see the famous TARDIS, together with many other stars of the show including the mighty Empress of Racnoss, Sontarans, Davros and K9. A myriad of other items from the latest episodes of Doctor Who are also on display, so if you've seen it on screen you may well find it at the Museum.

Planet of the Dead was the first of four specials transmitting in 2009, and aired at Easter to a huge BBC One audience of just under nine million viewers. This hour long adventure saw the Doctor join forces with the extraordinary Lady Christina De Souza, when the London Bus they are travelling on takes a detour to an alien world.

Gary Hall, Chief Executive of Coventry Transport Museum says:
“We’re very pleased to be able to keep the exhibition right up to date with the addition of the costumes from the Easter special and look forward to adding to the exhibition over the coming months.”

Don’t forget too that the Museum is one of the most visited attractions in the Midlands in its own right with the world’s largest display of British road transport and brilliant interactive displays for all the family. So whether you’re a fan of Doctor Who or of television special effects generally, or even if you’re just looking for some great entertainment, make sure you make a note in your diary to book tickets for this fantastic show!
