In 2006, Galaxy’s 5 a-side team took on the Emmerdale Allstars in a warm-up match at the Acorns game and we’re beaten 2-1. They return this year with a score to settle. Captain Dan Kelly of the Breakfast Show said: “I’m really looking forward to the Acorns Match Day. It’s a brilliantly fun way to raise much needed money for a fantastic cause. Galaxy, and myself are proud to be a part of it. Last time, Emmerdale were lucky to get one over on us in a 2-1 win, but we’ve been training hard and I reckon our Galaxy team will make Birmingham proud this year and be victorious! So come down and cheer us on, get your tickets now because it really is a day not to be missed”.
