THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER FOR CYPRUS GETAWAYS

The dream destination of Cyprus just got that little bit closer from Monday (May 5th) as Cyprus Airways launched an additional scheduled flight to the holiday hotspot from Birmingham International Airport (BIA).

The airline, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, has operated from Birmingham for over 30 years, and will now fly to the popular island three times a week.  Holidaymakers will now able to take advantage of a weekend break in addition to the traditional week-long escape.

Known for its Mediterranean climate and stunning coastline, Cyprus is a firm favourite with Brits looking to catch some sun and with flights departing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays it has never been easier to enjoy all the destination has to offer.

Peter Vella, Birmingham International Airport’s Business Development Director said, “The launch of Cyprus Airways’ additional weekly flight to Cyprus will offer even greater choice and flexibility to passengers travelling from the Midlands to this wonderful island. Its friendly people, warm climate, lovely hotels and great history makes it an ideal choice for holiday makers of all ages’

Andreas Agathou, Cyprus Airways’ Senior Manager – Europe, Middle East & Gulf, USA & Canada said, “Cyprus Airways already flies twice weekly to Larnaca or Paphos from Birmingham, but with the newly introduced third flight being conveniently scheduled on a Monday, passengers are able to take a weekend break on the island, in addition to the week-long traditional holiday duration. The feedback from the market, especially the travel agents and the tour operators, has been very encouraging. With three frequencies there is a lot more you can do to satisfy the various segments of the markets.”
