VH1’s Nation’s Favourite Music Cities
Ex-Wonder Stuff frontman Miles Hunt was back in Birmingham recently to present a feature for VH1’s Nation’s Favourite Music City programme.
The programme, airing on Saturday 26th May at 7.00pm, takes a look at musicians that have come out of different UK cities and how many number ones they have achieved over the last two decades.
Miles hails from Marston Green in Birmingham and proudly took the film crew on a tour of the city’s musical heritage, from the site of former Duran Duran gig venue, The Rum Runner, to recording studios used by UB40 in Kings Heath, and the house where Ozzy Osbourne grew up in Aston.
Other Birmingham musicians who contributed to the programme included Toyah Wilcox, Musical Youth, and Ozzy Osbourne himself.
As well as having a strong musical past, up and coming bands including The Twang, The Editors and The Guillemots are ensuring that the future looks bright for Birmingham’s music scene.
