SECS IN THE CITIES - New networking group launches in Birmingham and Solihull
A brand new networking group for secretaries and PAs has been launched to help provide support and bring together like-minded women who are key players in organisations around the country holding enormous responsibility.
Secs in the Cities, is the brainchild of Branwen Cook and Judith Fine. “Our ethos is simple, we want to bring together women (and men) working as secretaries, PAs, office managers and event organisers and have fun.
“We understand how much they do every day and, along with running an office and having to know everything that is going on, a large part of their time is taken up organising someone else’s diary, booking events, lunches, Christmas parties and so on, all without the nice bit at the end. It’s their boss that attends the charity golf day; it’s their boss that goes to the monthly lunches and wine tastings.”
Branwen, who’s background is in PR and who has worked with many businesses in and around Birmingham, has joined forces with Judith, who runs her own very successful virtual PA company, “Secs in the Cities is ultimately about rewarding these women for everything they do, it’s an opportunity to meet up regularly and network, it’s a chance to enjoy a free event every month, take advantage of amazing discounts and offers courtesy of our supporters and friends around the city through or website and on a more serious note, it’s about providing a support network – a chance to come and let your hair down and de-stress. Having friends who work in a similar industry can really help if you feel like you are the only one struggling with an unforgiving boss or a problem you are working on that you can’t find the solution to.”
Secs in the Cities meet at least once a month through events across the city and members can log on to the website www.secsinthecities.co.uk to use the discounts and offers provided by companies across Birmingham and Solihull.
