SUMMER HOLIDAYS READY TO TAKE OFF TO A FLYING START FROM BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Thomas Cook Airlines introduces new routes

With summer in full swing, Thomas Cook Airlines has added the finishing touches to its flight programme from Birmingham International Airport, which will take off from 1st May 2008.  Two new destinations have been added to the schedule, so for the first time, holidaymakers in the region will be able to jet off to the island of Skiathos in Greece and to the city of Hurghada in Egypt.

Thomas Cook Airlines will have three Boeing 757-200 aircraft based at the airport, which each carry 235 passengers.  Over the summer period, the airline is expecting to transport, in total, nearly 200,000 travellers to their holiday destinations.

Frank Pullman, managing director of Thomas Cook Airlines, said: “We have analysed demand for flights in the region and because we have a fleet of 42 aircraft, we have been able to adapt our schedule so that we can offer more choice with exciting new destinations.
“Everyone at the airline has worked incredibly hard in preparation for the summer season, so we are looking forward to serving the Midlands.”

Flights are operated from Birmingham International Airport to 36 destinations in total, including ever-popular holiday spots such as Alicante, up and coming cities such as Bourgas in Bulgaria and further afield to Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.
