VOCALS TO VENUES – BIRMINGHAMS CREATIVE TALENT EXPOSED
Birmingham is fast becoming the creative capital of the UK, and on Monday 21st of April, from 7.30pm at Malmaison we’ll all get a chance for a sneak preview of some of the leading creative talent in the city.
An incredibly wide variety of work will be showcased, from embroidered wallpaper to exquisitely produced fashion and design items. The work runs the whole gamut of the creative world, from artwork aimed at corporate markets to grassroots projects run by and for artists, while reflecting the diversity of work made in the city through presenting practitioners of music, design, fashion and fine art, all under one roof.
The group formed together through Makers and Shapers, a three month course run by Creative Alliance, based in the Custard Factory in Digbeth, and funded through Business Link West Midlands. Over this period the group members worked to develop their business practice alongside their creative practice and achieve a Level 3 qualification in Creative Business Start-up into the bargain.
‘Birmingham is a great place to be starting my creative business’ Says Abigail Hall, one of the designers exhibiting her work, ‘There is fantastic support available and there is a buzz round Digbeth and Eastside because of the growth and opportunities for Creative Businesses.’
‘Having worked in my sector for almost thirty years, I have never come across a training programme that was so useful and, importantly, so relevant’ Jackie Roxborough, vocal coach.
Capacity is limited so please RSVP your attendance to anna@creativealliance.org.uk ASAP
