The Royal Bank of Scotland Gives Cash for Classics
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) have once again shown their generosity and business flair through their support for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and its education and community work. The Bank, famous for their business acumen, have proved they also have an excellent ear for quality music making.
RBS are one of the CBSO’s largest Corporate Patrons, and have renewed their support for Britain’s foremost Orchestra for the 11th year. Their support allows the Orchestra’s important education and community work, which reaches over 28,000 people each year, to flourish. In addition the Bank endows the Chair of CBSO cellist Catherine Ardagh-Walter.
Robin Daniels, Director of Corporate Banking has a special interest in the instrument:
“Although many might not perceive banking as a creative profession, there’s a lot more to us behind the suits,” he laughs. “ I myself have played the cello and piano for 30 years, and have a real passion for music. Our continued relationship with the CBSO is of great importance to us: the Orchestra is one of the city’s most valuable assets, and everyone attending concerts gains great pleasure from the music performed by the CBSO.”
Around 40 companies now enjoy the benefits of the CBSO’s Corporate Patronage packages, which include private hospitality rooms, opportunities for wining and dining, and of course, inspiring and exhilarating music in Europe’s finest concert hall, Symphony Hall.
