European Festival of Brass Bands
Birmingham is proud to host the 2007 European Festival of Brass Bands from 28th April to 6th May 2007.
The British Federation of Brass Bands (BFBB), who are the festival organisers, have finalised a week long series of brass band events that will make up a spectacular showcase of European brass music.
The week’s main events will take place in arguably the best Concert Hall in Europe. The magnificent Symphony Hall will host the traditional gala concert on the evening of May 5th. This will feature the current European Champions, and a truly ‘English Flavour ‘for the finale.
Running through the week will be the 4th European Solo Contest; this will culminate in a Concerto final on Thursday evening May 3rd in the wonderfully refurbished Adrian Boult Hall in the Birmingham Conservatoire complex. Three of the best young brass soloists in Europe will fight it out to become ‘European Solo Champion 2007’.
On Sunday 6th May the Adrian Boult Hall will again provide the venue for the farewell concert featuring the eagerly awaited appearance of Brass Band Oberösterreich.
Birmingham looks forward to meeting Brass Band enthusiasts from all over
