Drayton Manor Theme Park Opens for the New Season with a New Attraction and a Treat for Mums
The award-wining Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire opens for the 2009 season on Saturday 21st March.
The opening weekend will see the launch of a brand new attraction at the theme park – a sensational 152-seat 4D cinema. The cinema allows the audience to watch a movie in 3D while seated in specially designed chairs, which react to scenes in the film by moving up and down, releasing sprays of water, bursts of air, bubbles and various smells.
In addition to this brand new ride, the theme park has also invested in its catering facilities this year, including building a new chicken diner with indoor and outdoor seating, which serves a huge variety of marinated fresh chicken. The Coffee Shop has been rebuilt and is now a much larger 1950s style diner, and the Buccaneer Burger Restaurant has had both its kitchen and dining areas refurbished and now seats 400 people.
With a huge number of rides and attractions for all ages, a day out for the whole family at the theme park gives real value for money. In fact, adult tickets booked online have remained at the same price for the last three years, providing a saving of up to £7 per ticket*.
The theme park is also home to Europe’s first and only Thomas Land™, featuring 12 rides based on popular Thomas & Friends™ characters, and also features indoor and outdoor play areas, a restaurant and a shop.
For the more adventurous, Drayton Manor Theme Park boasts some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around, such as The Bounty, G-Force, Maelstrom, Shockwave and Apocalypse.
Once the excitement of the rides has got too much, families can enjoy a relaxing stroll about Drayton Manor Zoo and see a huge variety of animals from tigers and leopards, to snakes and spiders, as well as exotic birds, mischievous meerkats and playful penguins.
Mother’s Day
On Mother’s Day (Sunday 22nd March), mums will be welcomed to the park for free when accompanied with two full paying visitors, either adult (£25) or child (£21). In addition to the rides and attractions, families can also upgrade this offer to include a delicious Mother’s Day lunch in the theme park’s Tower Suite.
The upgrade for adults (aged 12 and over) will cost an additional £12.00 per adult, while the upgraded tickets for children (aged 11 and under) will cost an additional £6.00 per child. Under 4's not eating can join the family free of charge. Mums and families who don’t wish to visit the main theme park can also come just for the food and pay only the upgrade price.
