“Birmingham is our Second Home”
This morning on Heart Breakfast, Ed James and Sarah-Jane Mee spoke to Trinny and Susannah about how Birmingham is their second home and how excited they are about ‘Style in the City’, which is only three weeks away!
Trinny and Susannah will be hosting their very own Style Academy at ‘Style in the City’. It will be the UK launch of a live theatre version of their popular TV show. The Academy has been tried and tested in New Zealand and Australia, where the duo were swamped by hoards of women, eager to take their clothes off on stage and receive some fashion advice. The stylish pair are really excited about bringing the concept this side of the equator, as Trinny explained:
“We really want everyone to get involved. It means we can reach more people and this way, they can get the advice and have the same experience which viewers experience on TV – but firsthand! We can reach many, many more people by doing it in this environment”.
When asked to sum up the Midlands’ style, Susannah said:
“The further north you go, the more effort people make with their style, especially with grooming, hair and make up. People are, generally speaking, better groomed’.
The duo have been to Birmingham lots of time before and the girls describe it as their ‘second home’. They are well acquainted with the Mailbox, especially Harvey Nicholls, as they always stay at Malmaison when they are visiting the city.
When asked about Birmingham’s shopping scene, Susannah commented:
“Birmingham has very good shopping and equally, it has got a good high street – you don’t need to go to London to dress well”.
