Ludovic Morlot To Make His UK Debut
Talented French Conductor Ludovic Morlot will be making his UK debut with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday 15 May, 7.30 at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, in what promises to be a truly indulgent concert.
Ludovic will be joined by Toby Spence in a beautiful programme including Debussy’s Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, Britten’s Nocturne for Tenor and Chamber Orchestra, Lemminkainen and the Maidens on the Island (opus 22 no1) by Sibelius and ends with Debussy’s symphonic poem, La Mer.
Ludovic Morlot is quickly establishing a reputation as a fine international conductor. Currently he is Assistant Conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, a post that he has held since 2004. He is already in great demand in North America, and highly regarded in the Far East and France. 2007 sees him return to conduct the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Ensemble intercontemporain in Paris and the Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa in Japan as well as making his debuts with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the DSO Berlin, Tonhalle, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
