Biffy Clyro at Warwick University

Biffy Clyro are one of the UK's most respected rock bands. Since their debut album Blackened Sky emerged in 2002 they have doggedly pursued one aim with ruthless persistence: to become their own favourite band by making music that continually pushes the boundaries of their own capabilities. They have repeatedly ignored and resisted every musical trend that has come and gone. They have played virtually every sweatbox in the UK, demonstrating a never-say-die work ethic which has garnered the trio one of the most devoted fanbases in the UK. Three stunning albums and hundreds of gigs later, they're on the verge of finally cracking the mainstream with new LP Puzzle, their biggest and boldest to date. They've paid their dues - now it's time for them to claim their rightful place as one of the country's biggest bands.

Their live show is notorious for its passion, ferocity and sheer head-spinning delirium. Cutting up songs and piecing them back together in entirely the wrong order is Biffy's stock-in-trade, though the band's experimental side is never allowed to overwhelmed their knack for a killer melody. Songs like Glitter and Trauma, Bodies in Flight and Now the Action is On Fire! are as blisteringly inventive as they are instantly hummable. Indeed, a Biffy Clyro gig is much more than a simple trek through their extensive back catalogue - it's an experience to be savoured.

Warwick Students' Union are proud to be able to welcome Biffy back to the Marketplace for a stand-alone show as part of their European tour supporting Bloc Party. Last time they took to the stage in the Union they were an underground cult in the making, delivering a classic set packed full of anthemic crowd-pleasers. This time around they return as bona-fide rock heroes - three men on the verge of realising the potential displayed over years of hard graft.
