Launch of TheBusinessDesk.com
TheBusinessDesk.com West Midlands was launched at the start of February and is already making a big impact on the region.
Editor Marc Reeves says the site achieved its first month target of user registrations in less than four days, and it is fast approaching the audience levels experienced by its counterparts in Yorkshire and the North West.
More than one thousand business people signed up in the first week to receive the service’s daily and weekly emails, with hundreds more being added each week, says Reeves, who edited the Birmingham Post until December last year.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the take-up and the positive response we’re getting,” he said. “We aim to be positive about business in Birmingham and the West Midlands, and it’s this that I believe is winning us such a lot of support from readers and advertisers.”
TheBusinessDesk.com is an online-only news and information service aimed exclusively at the business community that has already redefined business journalism in Yorkshire and the North West. Founded in Leeds in 2007, TheBusinessDesk.com launched its North West ‘edition’ in Manchester in 2009.
Powered by a daily email alert that delivers the top business stories to the inboxes of entrepreneurs and professionals by 9am every morning, TheBusinessDesk.com West Midlands will offer concise, focused and timely news and information.
A simple, reader-friendly website is updated through the day, covering deals, property, the SME sector and all aspects of business life in the West Midlands. Readers register to access full versions of articles and can choose to receive daily and / or weekly emails. In Yorkshire and the North West, more than 30,000 business people have signed up, and a recent survey revealed the salary of the average TheBusinessDesk.com reader is £100,000pa.
