Birmingham St Patrick’s Festival 2008
The Birmingham St Patrick’s Festival 2008 Planning Group is delighted to announce that the Festival will be running from 9th March 2008 – 17 March 2008. There will be many fantastic events during this period and the highlight will be the annual Parade on Sunday 16th March 2008. Please watch out and listen to local media over the coming weeks for regular updates. You can also keep up to date on the Festival website www.stpatricksfestival.co.uk
The route of the Parade through Digbeth remains unchanged as you will see from the map. So far we have 8 confirmed bands for the Parade, with 2 of these coming from Ireland . The bands are Birmingham Irish Pipes and Drums, Triumph Pipe Band, West Midlands Police Band, Wolverhampton Pipe Band, Arklow Marching Band, Combined Nautical Band, Drums and Pipes of the Irish Guards and St MacCartan’s Pipe Band.
Make sure you put these dates in your diary and come down to Digbeth and celebrate St Patrick. Bob Brolly and BBCWM will be there to make sure the Parade starts on time and so that people from all over the world can listen to what’s happening on www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham
