The World In One Region

A competition to gather a cultural snapshot of the West Midlands region was launched today by the arts audience development agency for the West Midlands – Audiences Central.

Audiences Central are looking for amateur, professional or student photographers who live in the West Midlands to help capture a series of ‘fly on the wall’ photographs that will build up a detailed and honest picture of the day to day lives of ethnically diverse communities across the West Midlands.

The competition is open to anyone and everyone and the broad criteria of ‘West Midlands Ethnically Diverse Communities’ is open to entrants own interpretations.

The competition will also feature a special category prize for the best photograph of ‘West Midlands Audiences – enjoying the arts’ again open to interpretation.

Anita Dinham Diversity and Access Manager of Audiences Central said: "We would like the winning entries to capture and represent the real mixture, excitement, and uniqueness of the diverse ethnic minority communities that make up the West Midlands."

The competition is supported by the BBC and a selection of high quality entries will be displayed on the BBC Big Screen, on the BBC website and in a special display at the BBC Mailbox.

Terms and conditions apply.  For full details and an update on competition prizes please visit www.theworldinoneregion.com or email Johnathan Branson at: Johnathan.branson@audiencescentral.co.uk.
