Mencap in the Midlands Presents Fashion Remix
Mencap in the Midlands is proud to mark its arrival with a spectacular catwalk fashion show held in the centre of Birmingham on Friday 9th March 2007.
'Fashion Remix' is being held in conjunction with the UCE’s Fashion Department with auction prizes donated by the Clothes Show Live, Armani, The Radisson, Selfridges & sponsorship from Touchwood shopping centre.
The show celebrates 60 years of fashion and 60 years of Mencap, featuring professional models, those with and without a learning disability. Take a journey back in time to celebrate the styles of the 1940's, 50's, 60's 70's, 80's & 90's.
Hosted by former Casualty star Sarah Manners, the evening will include a sparkling drinks reception, 8 catwalk shows, stilt walkers, dancers, & make-up & fragrances to try and buy. Expect sumptuous fashions to suit every taste, from the UCE School of fashion & textiles, Haute Coutre by Betty Jackson and the latest retail collections from Touchwood shopping centre. Be the first to view the 2007 Autumn/Winter collection by Jacob Kimmie fresh from London Fashion Week.
Hair and make-up is kindly provided by Pelo & Stage & lighting by Talk Events.
Go along to the show and celebrate Birmingham’s official status as the UK’s best shopping destination outside of London. Money raised from this exciting event will help improve the lives of over 200,000 children and adults with a learning disability in the East and West Midlands.
‘Fashion Remix’ takes place at the Holiday Inn Birmingham, Smallbrook Queensway, Birmingham, B5 4EW from 6.30pm onwards. As the hottest ticket in town, demand is high! Tickets are just £15.
