Edward De Bono Joins Audit Line-Up
The world’s leading authority on creative thinking has joined the panel of speakers for a UCE Business School conference next month.
Professor Edward de Bono will join Rogue Trader Nick Leeson and address UCE Business School’s fourth biennial Internal Audit conference – ‘A cornerstone in effective organisational governance’, when it takes place on 13 th and 14 th March, 2007.
Professor de Bono pioneered the development of creative thinking tools and self organising information systems after applying the findings of medical research on the glands, kidneys and respiration to the neural networks of the brain.
His formal and deliberate tools of lateral, parallel and perceptual thinking are now widely used around the world. He has written 65 books, which have been translated into 39 languages and is a visiting professor of ‘thinking’ at UCE Business School and five other universities.
Kelsey Walker, Managing Director of Just Assured Ltd and a member of the Council of Directors of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), UK and Ireland, has also joined the line-up, along with Hans Nieuwlands, President of the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Audit.
A strong list of conference speakers already includes jewellery magnate Gerald Ratner, David Law, Head of Risk and Audit to the Olympic Delivery Authority for the London 2012 Games, and the presidents of both the US and UK and Ireland IIA – David Richards and Alec Richmond.
The conference will be split into four half-day sessions and each session will feature two key speakers plus Question and Answer sessions and a discussion panel.
