Disenchanted with Lapland New Forest?

Thomas Land™ will save your children's Christmas

Families from the Midlands who have been disappointed with Lapland New Forest can still have a cracker of a Christmas thanks to Drayton Manor Theme Park in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Maybe you’re one of the 2,000 people who have already visited Lapland New Forest or are amongst the 50,000 people who are believed to have pre-booked online only to be left reeling that the ‘attraction’ has been closed down – if this sounds like you, you’ll be relieved to know that ticket prices for weekday admission into Thomas Land at Drayton Manor Theme Park have been slashed:

Aged 4 and over        £10 (was £16.00)
Aged 2-3                    £5 (was £11.00)
Under 2                      FREE
Grandee (60+)            £10 (was £13.50)
Disabled and helper  £10 each (£15.00 each)
Groups of 4+              £10 per person (was £12.50 per person)

Only families who can provide proof of their visit to Lapland New Forest will be admitted at the reduced ticket price.

Open until 4th January 2009, Thomas Land will have snow falling every other hour, Santa and his real reindeer relaxing ahead of a busy Christmas Eve and the Fat Controller will be on hand to meet and greet the young and young at heart. And there is no need to worry if the weather is a bit chilly as Drayton Manor has that covered too with outdoor heating and undercover areas to shelter from the snow!

Santa will be the star of a new live stage show - Santa’s Magical Adventure - which follows a young girl who has written a very long Christmas list for Santa, but is taken on a journey to discover the real meaning of Christmas. As a special treat for those children who see the show in the Big Top theatre, Santa and his little helpers have been busy making some presents especially for the park’s visitors, which will be given to all under nines at no additional cost.

Colin Bryan, managing director for Drayton Manor Theme Park, commented: “Christmas should be a magical time for the whole family – anyone who feels disappointed with Lapland New Forest shouldn’t feel disheartened, we’re here to help and we guarantee that at Thomas Land, they’ll have a Christmas to remember!”

Drayton Manor unveiled Europe’s first and only Thomas Land in March 2008 and it quickly became a success. It boasts 12 themed rides based on the loveable and well-known characters, including Thomas the Tank Engine, Harold the Helicopter, Cranky the Crane and The Troublesome Trucks. Thomas Land also offers a wonderful indoor play area, café and a huge shop where fans can choose from a massive range of Thomas & Friends™ goodies.

The main theme park is closed for the winter season and will re-open on Saturday 21st March 2009. However, Thomas Land will be opening during February half term.

Thomas Land opening dates:
Saturday 22nd November to Tuesday 23rd December and Saturday 27th December to Sunday 4th January 2009. Closed 24th, 25th and 26th December.
