Polish ‘Polar Express 3D’ Pulls into IMAX Cinema

This Christmas, there is a festive treat in store for Birmingham’s Polish communities.  On Thursday 20 and Friday 28 December 2007, a special Polish language version of the Christmas classic, The Polar Express 3D will be screening at IMAX Cinema, Millennium Point.

“Our local Polish community is an important part of Birmingham’s growing diverse population,” comments Sally Garner, IMAX Commercial Manager, “We are very pleased to be able to put on these special screenings for Polish families, and hope to encourage even more new audiences to our unique Cinema.”

Back by popular demand, Polar Express 3D has now returned exclusively to IMAX Cinema for a third year in a row.  The English language version of the film is screening daily until Sunday 6 January 2008.  This magical Christmas film, based on the classic Caldecott medal-winning children's book written by Chris Van Allsburg, is directed by Oscar® winner Robert Zemeckis and stars two-time Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks.  Using state-of-the-art CGI and performance capture technology to create a unique blend of realism and fantasy, this Christmas classic tells the story of a doubting young boy, who on Christmas Eve, lies in bed hoping to hear the sound of reindeer bells from Santa's sleigh.  To his surprise a steam engine roars outside his window and the conductor (Tom Hanks) invites him aboard.  Soon he is on his way to the North Pole to find out if Santa really exists!

The Polar Express 3D (English language version) is screening every day throughout December.  To book your tickets visit www.imax.ac or call 0121 202 2222.
