EDGBASTON LIGHTS UP THIS CHRISTMAS

Calthorpe Estates has invested over £20,000 to light up the streets of Edgbaston this Christmas.

Residents and office workers on Harborne Road, Highfield Road, Edgbaston Road, Calthorpe Road and Islington Row Middleway are enjoying the festive glow from the seasonal lights which are on display.

Calthorpe Estates, who are investing £350 million to deliver the largest redevelopment of the west end of Birmingham, also brought Christmas cheer to Harborne by sponsoring the new ten-metre square skate rink in the village centre this year.

Hundreds of Harborne and Edgbaston residents flocked to try out the seasonal skate rink during the Christmas lights switch-on event, which took place on Friday November 30.

BBC Midlands Today TV presenter, Nick Owen turned on the lights with the Harborne Carnival Queen, Jenny Evitts. Guest appearances from local celebrities included BBC WM radio presenter Jimmy Franks and a live performance from ex-Pop Idol contestant, Hayley Evetts.
