Make Art Happen! Producer/Curator Development Programme

Fierce Earth, one of the UK’s most dynamic independent producers and DCA, leaders in the development of creative people and creative businesses, are looking for eight individuals who have the talent to become the most explosive, original new arts producers and curators on the national and international scene.

Momentum, the Producer / Curator Development Programme, based in Birmingham and the West Midlands, runs from February 2007 to January 2008. Successful applicants will receive:

• £10,000 award to cover time spent on the programme and/or away from work

• Personalised training and development programme

• Access to carefully selected mentors who are the best in their field

• Rigorous training and professional development across key areas including project management, finance and marketing

• Up to 3 month placement within a host organisation

• Individual support to develop an electrifying new project.

To secure a place on Momentum you need to want to experiment and take risks. You should have:

• At least 2 years proven experience of producing or curating work either independently or within an organisation.

• A passion for contemporary multi-artform / interdisciplinary practice in the contexts of performing arts, visual arts (including artists’ moving image and the digital) and literature.

• A real sense of vision, a need to make things happen and a to build a future as one of the UK’s top independent producers / curators.

Applications are welcome from producers and curators from the West Midlands region who may wish to explore opportunities both in and outside of the region. Additionally, we welcome applications from those outside of the region who have an aspiration to work independently in the West Midlands, or create work within the region.
