Aer Arann, one of the fastest growing regional airlines in Europe, has announced a new service from Birmingham International Airport to Waterford, South East Ireland, will begin on 14th May 2007.

The new service from Birmingham International Airport to Waterford will operate daily, excluding Saturday, departing BIA at 1.20pm and Waterford at 11.30am, with a flight time of one hour and twenty minutes. The route will be operated by a 66 seater ATR 72 aircraft and fares will start from £35 one way including tax.

Commenting on the announcement, Colin Lewis, Head of Sales and Marketing, Aer Arann said: “We are delighted to be further expanding our UK network with a new service from Birmingham to Waterford. Gateway to the South East and the home of Waterford Crystal, this vibrant city has plenty to offer visitors from the UK.  We believe it will prove to be a popular short breaks destination from the midlands and look forward to working with the team at Birmingham International Airport to develop the service."

Peter Vella, Business Development Director at Birmingham International Airport said: “Ireland is a popular destination from Birmingham. Last month saw an increase in passenger figures of 8.9% for the same period the previous year, so it’s terrific news for the Airport and our customers to announce a completely new route to the Emerald Isle.”
