A big scary monster is heading to Birmingham this Christmas! Visiting the city for the very first time, The Gruffalo is set to entertain children for 21 performances between 23 December and 3 January at Town Hall Birmingham. This magical, musical adaptation of the award-winning book by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, is full of songs, laughs and scary fun and ideal for children aged 3 and upwards. A special, Great Gruffalo GRRRR Day on Saturday 2 January adds wild stories, crazy crafts, face painting and lots more on Town Hall’s foyers, free for those attending the day’s shows.

Recently voted the nation’s favourite bedtime story by BBC Radio 2 listeners, The Gruffalo has sold more than four million copies and this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. The story follows Mouse on his adventurous journey through the deep dark wood, scaring away the hungry animals with tall stories of the terrifying Gruffalo. But he needs all his wits and courage when he comes face to face with the very creature he imagined!
